ABBY HENDERSHOT
BLUE PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Abby Hendershot, a Columbus, Ohio native, discovered her passion for the ocean during family vacations to Sanibel Island. That early connection to Southwest Florida led her to Florida Gulf Coast University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Environmental Education.
Driven by a love for the outdoors and a belief that conservation starts with connection, Abby creates programs that bring people closer to nature by restoring coastal habitats, leading hands-on educational experiences, and supporting community science projects. Complementing her work in the environmental nonprofit sector, Abby is also working towards her Master of Nonprofit Management at the University of Central Florida, and is eager to expand and strengthen her impact with community-focused conservation efforts.
When she’s not working or studying, Abby is likely to be found outdoors birding, enjoying the beach, or scouting out the next plant to add to her collection. She finds balance through practicing yoga and often spends evenings listening to live jazz.
